Yikes, I'm way behind!

It's been a long time since I updated my poor little blog.

Here is a picture-full post to try to make up for lost time. Enjoy~

On December 11th, 2016 near Winchester, KY, my brother Andrew married Marie Brown.  Thankfully, we were able to make it out of blizzardy ND and made it to the wedding rehearsal just on time (Michael and I were amongst the wedding party). It was a very special time and we enjoy seeing my brother so happy!

Michael & I drove separately from my parents, Jacob & grandma Marly. On the way home, we took an extra day to explore the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum. Both are highly recommended!

We had an incentive to get home-----Beretta's puppies had been born on Andrew & Marie's wedding day.
6 girls and 1 boy. This is when they were a few weeks old already.
On January 8th,  Michael & I (with help from family) hosted a wedding reception at the Alfred church for our ND family and friends. Michael and I made most of the food and were planning for many more people than were able to come, so we had lots of leftovers.  I baked the large cakes and my mom and friends made the gluten free heart cakes.  Michael was a wonderful MC and we had a really nice time with those who braved the weather and came. We had some games for the groom and bride and wrote some Mad-Libs for the guests to play. Lots of fun!

 Meanwhile, the puppies kept growing....
We went ice fishing a few times...watching the fish on the underwater camera...hoping they'd bite....which they didn't....until Michael went by himself....and then they were tiny Perch and had to be thrown back...
I've been spinning some of our Shetland sheep's wool.
Michael's cousin (once removed or however it is) Grant came for a quick visit and he and Michael went coyote hunting and got this one.
Michael shot this fox last week.
Having poultry on the farm means that foxes are potential threats to our animals' safety.
My soap inventory was at zero, so I spent a good part of a day making, packaging and labeling these soaps. I wanted some of them for part of my friend, Tearza's wedding present. She got married to Joel last weekend and, on the way home from the wedding, we picked up a purebred Nubian billy goat (Wesley)  that we'd paid for and that was just a couple miles out of our way.

The beginning of February meant that our 7 sweet puppies could go to their new homes. We took them for their shots and vet appointment; I gave them baths; put on new collars; and it was a little sad to part, but we know they went to good homes and are well loved.
 Big news!!
Michael & I are an Uncle & Aunt now. :)
Michael's brother, James & his wife, Jenny had little Everett James on Jan. 17th, 2017.

We got to go see him when he was about 3 weeks old.  He's so adorable and cuddly!

 The proud mama....

And one of my favorite pictures...  ;D
It's been a beautiful, sunny week. It must be about time for a long walk...

Until next time,
God be with you and guide you all.
