Home again, home again!

Wow! There's been a lot going on since I last wrote here, and I'm still too tired to write about it.

I spent the day babysitting (brought the Littles over here for a couple hours this afternoon), and just got home. Maybe tomorrow night I'll have more time for blogging? :)

The Littles are growing up!

I spent the day (most of it) babysitting again. The girls are really getting to be helpful, if I can think of jobs for them to do. Tracy helped Vonn with his sippy cup without being asked. He basically just chews on it, but it gives him something to do.
 Vonn and a playpen pal...
 :)

I'm leaving tomorrow (Josephine is going with me!) for MN to visit a certain young man whose name starts with an "M". :) Most of my packing is done already, so depending on if it's good rock-picking weather in the morning or not (can maybe leave earlier if it's raining or something like that), we'll leave and try to be at the Dalquist farm as the sun sets. My blog will be silent for a few days, but I'll try to remember to get some pictures to share later...  I am EXCITED!!!

God be with you 'til we meet again.~

People are acting like it's Spring, but....

...is it Spring???

Dad has been teaching Jacob how to run his cleaning rig the last couple of days.

 The machine: :)
This was here at home, cleaning our wheat...
Dad sold quite a bit to a farmer for seed and delivered that to him last night (south of Linton a ways).
Andrew was busy with fixing some things on his cleaner here at home.
Mom was still feeling sick, so she rested a lot.
Oh, and we had to pull a small calf, as the cow was miscarrying and the baby was dead.
See what I mean? We're hoping Spring is here, somewhere...
Since everyone else was too busy to pick rocks yesterday,
I went out and popped a bunch more out of the ground...
This morning, I went to Steele for gas and groceries before heading over to babysit. On my way over, I saw a bunch of Sandhill Cranes in a field, so apparently, they think it's Springy enough to stick around?

I'm still not convinced.

Gophers, be gone...

It was a sunny day, so Jacob & I got out our rifles again for some gopher shootin' fun. This time, Andrew was home and came with for some excitement.

 We shot 7 altogether (again)!

For more fun, we went down to the range and got in some target practice...

Jacob tried out my bow for the first time and REALLY liked it and was pretty good at it too! I wouldn't be too awful surprised if more bows (and arrows) show up on the farm someday in the future.

It was a delightful day of resting, studying God's Word, singing, watching a neat movie (www.indescribablethemovie.com/) Andrew brought home from Texas (about the writing of the hymn, "The Love of God"), and yes, target practice.

Yesterday, I babysat for most of the day, then came home and helped clean the house and the boys helped Mom make supper, as she wasn't feeling well all day again. Please keep her in your prayers!

Tomorrow, it's back to rock picking...and grain cleaning...and counting down the days to when I get to go to MN to see Michael and to meet his sister and her husband! :)

Babies grow too fast...

Vonn is wearing size 12-month clothing already (he's 5 months old) and we (his parents and I) are working on getting him to take his naps in his crib/play pen now instead of rocking him so much. :(  I like to keep him close still to keep an eye on him as he rests. Guess I'm kinda attached to the little fella.

As you can see, growing makes a person tired....

Dad and Andrew are busy from daybreak to sunset with grain cleaning. Jacob feeds the cows twice a day and does other work on the farm, although today he went with Mom to Bismarck to get some supplies. There was one new calf today, which means there are just 2 heifers left to calve. :)

Two little monkeys...

...sitting in a tree...

 None fell out even!
Yes, I definitely enjoy babysitting more than rock picking!
