Thanks to those of you who took a guess at what THIS is:
You were pretty close, really. It is an old (huge) tire that was converted into a water-tank for the cows. (We paid somebody to make them.) Those parts on top with the handles---those are the lids for if we need to have water in the house at a certain time, then we can go cover the drinking holes if the cows are there so that the tank fills and quits running---resulting in water pressure in the house. This Spring, the men in my family put 2 of these "tanks" over the place where water fountains used to be. So far, they've been working well. They're tough so the cows can't beat them up, and there's more room for the cows to drink all at once so they don't push on each other so much.

It's been really exciting watching as people sign up for the June shoot!!! A little over half the range is reserved already, with just 14 spots remaining and a month to go! This may be the largest shoot we've hosted yet! :) Our shoot boss will be coming from MN this time. I'm SO looking forward to it (especially since some of the people registered are good friends of mine!) Hooray for target practice with friends!!!
Project Appleseed Shoots have been one of the ways the Lord's blessed our family with fellowship these past, what is it now, 3 years since we set up the shooting-range?
In other words, God has blessed our home with the range!

Isaac has been wanting to make it to another appleseed shoot but he's milking for a neighbor that weekend. He really wanted to come, maybe someday.
ReplyDeleteAwwww, that's too bad that it won't work this time for him. There will be a shoot in Jamestown in July, and we're also hosting one in September here at the farm. We'd LOVE to have any/all of you come!! :)
