A visit up north...

Last Thursday afternoon, Andrew and I hopped in his little fuel-efficient-though-not-so-beautiful car and headed up the road a far piece to visit the C. family.

Heather C. had invited us to come up and meet some of their friends who were visiting from NH...
Patrick had bought a different pickup and was working on it, so naturally, Andrew was interested in seeing what was wrong and helping Patrick with whatever needed working on.

Close to supper time, the whole C. family; their NH friends; and a few other families met at a dam to visit and eat supper together.

The plan was to go hiking up to Hawk's Nest that evening, but by the time we quit talking and actually drove to the spot, it was pretty dark and started to rain, but it was fun anyways.

 Visiting....

....while the guys got a fire going....
L to R: Rachel C, Bethany and her sister, Tristan (from NH), and Mrs. C.
Oh, and there is Mrs. M. and Heather C...
We were very glad that several of these families took the boxes of apples
that Andrew and I had packed into the car to share!
They made popcorn over the fire--yummy!
The next morning, Rachel showed us her colt that we'd delivered to her
for a mutual friend the last time we went to see their family.

He looks so nice and shiny/smooth!  Rachel still seems to be in love.  :)
"Good boy!"  He's kinda frisky and wanted to get back to eating his grass!

They showed us their new kittens too.  Awwww, they're SOOOO cute and cuddly!

Andrew disappeared under the pickup with Patrick for quite a while...
They came out looking pretty greasy and pleased with what they were able to accomplish.
 Chickens!
It was funny to watch them come running when they thought they were going to get some breakfast.
Heather played one of her favorite (very lively and happy sounding) piano pieces...  :)

The morning slipped by very quickly and it was soon time to say "Farewell", as Andrew had combining to do at home for a neighbor.

"Goodbye, C family!  Thanks again for your great hospitality and I hope we can see you all again very soon!!!"  (I'm writing this here, as I know they are going to read this post).  ;)

On Friday, I went over to get my dad home from the field, as this field was too wet to combine still.
 Oh what a beautiful day!!!
At home, we've been working on various projects, getting the place tidied up again for the Project Appleseed shoot being held here this weekend.  I'm SO excited!!!!  It's hard to wait sometimes!

I just got home from bringing a pickup home from the field pictured above, as my dad is going to finish our wheat harvest tonight and then will bring the other semi home.
Hooray--- and praise be to God for this harvest!
