Just as we were getting ready to head to town to sit at the sale for possibly hours and hours, one of the owners of the salesbarn called and told us our calves were coming up shortly. SO, we turned on the auction on-line and watched our calves sell from our dining room. Then, everyone but Mom went into town to figure out the calf check (who got what) and then to pay off some loans and the like. One of the other salesbarn owners saw us there and told us to eat something "on the house", so we went into the Cafe and had malts. :) We also bought some ice cream at the store to celebrate the special day, so my mom had some of that with us later at supper. My dad said the price of cattle has been dropping the past 2 weeks, but the price was still very good and we're very thankful!
Now we are all ready to start up the next calving season (in about a months time, that is).
